4 Worst Spy Movies to Binge-Watch This Weekend

1. Ek The Tiger (2012)

What do you expect from a Salman Khan film? Only exotic locations, exorbitant sets, highly approved gadgets and romantic songs. Starring Katrina Kaif too in the prominent role, this film has got no head and tail. Turning into a sloppy lovey-dovey film and less of a spy makes it one of the worst spy movies.

Salman Khan, playing the character of the RAW agent is a pleasure for fans to witness the high octane action sequences in various fascinating locations. Also, there is not-even-one-scene where he takes out his shirt. Thank god! While Zoya played by Katrina Kaif takes the first bench on the British Asian student, not only manages Salman Khan to fall in love with her, but is also looking totally stunning and glamorous in a “so-called” spy thriller movie.

The film is absolutely driven on the track of romance and love story, for it is written by the director- Aditya Chopra, so obviously. While the directorial hat is donned by Kabir khan, who had also directed Kabul express, so he knows the drill very well. While it is officially titled under spy films. God knows why!

Director- Kabir Khan

Star Cast- Salman Khan, Girish Karnad, Katrina Kaif

IMDb Rating- 5.5

Rotten Tomatoes Rating- 71%

Genre- Action, Romance, Thriller, Adventure, Mystery & Suspense

Where to watch- Amazon Prime Videos, AppleTV

2. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002)

Don’t get us wrong, but it isn’t a good movie and so is its title. One of the dumb movies with atrocious acting by the artist and the greatest, disaster music volume (worse album of the 2000s). The makers claimed the budget of $68 million and I feel more than 90 percent went in the baseless car flips and destructive scenes.

Directed by Wych Kaosayananda, starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu in opposite agents characters. Though there are few interesting shots but trust me, you’ll never watch until that time. The film gets more shallow as soon as it starts revealing the twist of it. Just can’t recommend this film to anyone.

Director- Wych Kaosayananda

Star Cast- Antonio Banderas, Talisa Soto, Gregg Henry and Lucy Liu

IMDb Rating- 3.7

Rotten Tomatoes Rating- 0

Genre- Action, Crime, Mystery, Adventure, Suspense, Science Fiction & Fantasy

Where to watch- Amazon Prime Videos

3. The Master of Disguise (2002)

Marking the vacuous family entertainment oriented movie in history, The Master of Disguise is a child spy thriller from 2002’s archive. A story about a fantasy power that lets a person turn into an identity. The power+ is given to a stupid and troublesome boy, Pistachio Disguisey, played by Dana Carvey, whose parents decide not to tell him about his family secret.

Wow! But why? Thus, turning the boy into the mischievous one. Obviously!! Later, when the boy’s parents, played by Edie McClurg and James Brolin are kidnapped by some “bad boy” Brent Spiner, the child’s grandfather played by Harold Gould appears from nowhere and guides him about the long line of family members. I know this all sounds so funny.

Director – Perry Andelin Blake

Star Cast – Dana Carvey, Jennifer Esposito, Harold Gould

IMDb Rating – 3.4

Rotten Tomatoes Rating – 1%

Genre – Adventure, Comedy, Family

Where to watch – Amazon Prime Videos

4. Agent Vinod (2012)

A film resembling lots of detached events. A bad spy thriller, Agent Vinod was made extremely able. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, who had really tried hard to depict something out of the box, but unfortunately, he showed us an unpoetic colorful screen with only exotic spots at every new scene.

For example, if he was showing us St. Petersburg, it was obvious to show some actual Russians villains while the heroine performed an item number to distract our Agent. And, if he’s to show Morocco, where Prem Chopra is trying to kill his pet, and on a counter when he shows us the set up of Karachi wedding, the legit mujra dance was evident to be shot. Clearing a vague and confused mindset for the one watching one of the worst spy movies of Bollywood.

Starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan as the leading artist of the film also had a soothing song “Raabta” which is the only thing appreciated about this film.

Director- Sriram Raghavan

Star Cast- Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Gulshan Grover, Adil Hussain, Rajat Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor

IMDb Rating- 5.2

Rotten Tomatoes Rating- 38%

Genre- Action & Adventure, Mystery & Suspense, Thriller

Where to watch- AppleTV
