There is a prolepsis to ten years when Blackie has become an established money schemer settled as a khaali peel in Mumbai. The current scenario shows distress among the taxi drivers, and they have called a strike for an indefinite period until the Government fulfills their requests.

Balckie tries to make some profitable income from the rising issue and decides to extract money. And here enters Pooja with a bag full of cash and jewelry whose safety is not a matter of concern. The plot of the movie showcases the black alleys of Kamathipura or the red light district of Mumbai. With overlapping flashbacks and prolepsis, the film proceeds to portray a comedy, and a drama often referred to as a dramedy.

The film has paid much attention to establish the persona of Blackie in a Rajnikanth style with the flicking of the back collar and borrowing cigarettes. Tashan and mosan- the two aspects of his vagabond life are never under the compromise. Director Khan has created the image of a full Bollywood masala movie from the beginning of the film that has been manifested throughout.

There are many hooligans with creepy names like Yusuf Chikna. Inspector Tawde fires bullets all the time, and the hero finds a narrow escape each time. The first forty minutes of the film is packed with cunning dialogues and will surely give you good visual pleasure with a fast pace movement.

The screenplay has a significant momentum with the integration of current time and flashback that fills the plot. However, some scenes appear to be dragged as it wanted to show the emotional setback of the characters. The child artists who play the role of teenaged Ishan and Ananya have a better rapport than the lead artists. The awkward kiss is something that appears as a misfit in the film.

Ishan has worked very hard to appear as a proper fit for the role. He has been perfect throughout the film, either in the pronunciation of rolling “R” while telling colloquial slang or walking like a roadside Romeo of Mumbai. His dance is also commendable with the songs like ‘Duniya Sharma Jayega’ and ‘Texas Neha’. Ananya too looks glamorous with the wrong side pinned nose and Patiala suits, which makes the audience not believe that she has a disturbing life in the alleys of Kamathipura in the film.
