Here’s A Look At All The New Characters Coming In ‘Mirzapur’ Season 2

After a long hiatus, Amazon Prime’s blockbuster web series ‘Mirzapur’ is back with its second season. Season 2 is all set to premiere on October 23, exclusively on Amazon Prime.

Fans who had been impatiently anticipating the second installment were extremely delighted when the official trailer for season 2 was dropped on October 6. The 2 minutes 48-second trailer took the internet by storm as soon as it was released. As expected, the trailer was high on emotions and suspense.

Now if you have already seen the trailer you must have felt, like us, that the show will become even more deadly, with blood-shed, violence, and conspiracies reaching new heights. The quest for taking over Mirzapur will be even more gruesome and bone-chilling, especially after the blood-soaked ending of the previous season.

Guddu Bhaiya seeks revenge on Munna who now changes rules to become the future ‘King of Mirzapur’. Fans are eager to know who ultimately will sit on the throne on October 23.

Mirzapur 2 marks the return of fan-favorite characters Govind Pandit aka ‘Guddu Bhaiya’ (Ali Fazal), Akhandanand Tripathi aka ‘Kaleen Bhaiya’ (Pankaj Tripathi), Phoolchand Tripathi aka ‘Munna’ Bhaiya (Divyendu Sharma), Gajgamini Gupta aka Golu (Shweta Tripathi), among others.

After losing some of the most loved characters in last season, fans will now be introduced to some new characters that have joined the cast of Mirzapur.

1. The Chief Minister

Dirty Politics is heavily woven around the city of Mirzapur. After the character of a slippery politician J.P Yadav (played by Pramod Pathak) in the previous season, a new and much bigger political character has now been added to the story of ‘Mirzapur’. Paritosh Sand joins the cast when he plays the role of a Chief Minister.

One can expect the plot to become even more intricate and mysterious with the entry of a powerful character. From the look of the trailer, the minister appears to be the new ‘patron’ of Kaleen Bhaiya. But whether or not the minister will form a friendly alliance with Kaleen Bhaiya, especially after crossing out Yadav, is still not clear from the look of the trailer. His true intentions will only be revealed in times to come.

2. Rati Shankar’s Widow

In the first season, we witnessed the brutal murder of our beloved character Rajat Sharma, Kaleen Bhaiya’s rival. And though we were able to get a glimpse of his son Sharad (played by Anjum Sharma) while performing his rites, his wife’s character has only been revealed in the second season.

Actor Meghna Malik (popular for her role of ‘Ammaji’ in the famed TV serial ‘Laado’) joins the cast where she is set to play the role of Rati Shankar’s widow.

Both mother and son duo are bloodthirsty for revenge and will go to any lengths to avenge Sharma’s death.

You must have not forgotten that it was Guddu and Bablu who had brutally killed Sharma in the middle of the road. Now that Guddu is all by himself, after the tragic death of his brother Bablu, only time will decide his fate.

3. Dadda Tyagi- A Local Goon

We sure were ‘faintly’ introduced to the name of ‘Dadda Tyagi’- a Local Goon in Season 1. But it is in the new trailer that the character has now been fully revealed.

Veteran actor M.M. Faruqui alias Liliput joins the main cast of Mirzapur as Dadda Tyagi.

Once a local goon, Dadda Tyagi has turned into a ‘Messiah’ for people and is now both feared and respected in the local community.

Let’s see if he will really help Kaleen Bhaiya or take pleasure in being his arch enemy. The mystery will only resolve once the season premieres on October 23.

4. Dadda Tyagi’s Grandson

Critically-acclaimed actor Vijay Sharma is set to play Dadda Tyagi’s grandson in the show. He has starred in popular films like Pink, Baaghi 3, and Gully Boy.

Returning to the show, though the character’s name hasn’t been revealed yet, he looks promising in the trailer. It is evident that he will play a crucial role as Tyagi’s grandson.

In what looks like a friendly alliance between him, Munna Bhaiya, and Sharad Sharma, these former enemies are set to make nothing easy for Guddu Bhaiya and Golu. The character is all set to spice up the rivalry in the new season.

Among the new cast joining the new season of Mirzapur are actors Isha Talwar( who played the role of ‘Aditi’ in the movie Article 15) and Priyanshu Painyuli( who appeared in the movie ‘Extraction’). Though their names have been confirmed, little is known about their roles they will be playing in Season 2 of Mirzapur.
