Bahubali 2 is an upcoming movie directed by S.S Rajamouli. The first installment in the Bahubali series, “Bahubali: The Beginning” was a blockbuster hit. It is a historical fiction movie.  It is the first movie to be released in 4K HD format in India.  The trailer of the movie was released a few days back. Every bit of the trailer oozes magnificence. The movie is releasing on the 28th of April, 2017

We got to see Thalaivar in a new avatar in Enthiran. It broke several existing box-office records at the time of its release. With Shankar, Aishwarya, A.R Rahman, Santhanam, and Thotta Tharani in the team, it was bound to be a success. 2.0 is a sequel to Endhiran. Khiladi Akshay Kumar is playing the role of the villain in 2.0. It is expected to release in October, this year.

He is believed to be playing an Interpol Officer, in the movie.

Vijay 61 is the working title of Vijay’s 61st movie.  Atlee- Vijay combination proved to be successful in Theri. They are working together for the second time. Theri was a blockbuster hit. Vijay 61 has a stellar star cast. Jyothika was touted to be a part of the movie, but the latest news suggests that Nithya Menon has replaced her.  Everyone’s waiting for the team to reveal the movie title and the first look.

It is a sequel to the movie Velai Illa Pattadhari(VIP).  The team has retained the same cast. Initially, Thanga Magan was rumoured to be the sequel of VIP, but Dhanush cleared it up stating that the scripts were different. Kajol is featuring in a Tamil movie, after several years. VIP was a super-hit. A lot of youngsters were able to resonate with the movie. Let us hope VIP 2 creates the same magic.

Vada Chennai is touted to be a gangster movie based in North Chennai. Vetrimaaran had recently stated that a single schedule of Vada Chennai cost more than the complete cost involved in the making of Visaranai.

Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam was released in 2015 amidst several controversies. The movie was initially banned in Tamil Nadu, but the ban was lifted, and the movie set the cash registers ringing at the box-office.

Vishwaroopam 2 is expected to be released this year. The sequel is said to be based in India, and not in the USA like the first part. The team has retained the same set of actors, for the sequel.

Aramm is a film based on water scarcity, in rural areas. Nayanthara dons the role of a district collector. The teaser of the movie was released a few days back. The farmers in our country have been facing issues related to irrigation, lack of rainfall, and lack of water for several years now. The recent awareness campaigns have brought those issues to the limelight. The movie is being made at the right time.

The scenes strongly remind us of the movie “Kaththi”, directed by A.R Murugadoss. Aramm’s director Gopi Nainar had filed a complaint against Kaththi, stating that the script was his, in 2014. However, Kaththi was given the green signal.

Kamal plays the role of Naidu. His character is a spin-off from his role as Balram Naidu in the movie Dasavatharam. Kamal Hassan’s full-length comic movies have always been exceptionally good. This is the first time; he is teaming up with his daughter Shruthi Hassan for a movie. The movie was supposed to release in 2016, but due to technical glitches, the release date was pushed to 2017. The movie is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
