Rajamouli and lead roles played by Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, this mega block buster grossed $17.38 million worldwide.

2. Mersal (Tamil)

A doctor and a magician try uncover the corruption which runs in the medical industry of the nation. Directed by Atlee Kumar and lead roles played by Joseph Vijay, Surya S.J, Kajal Aggarwal, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, this film grossed INR 260 crores worldwide.

3. Khaidi No. 150 (Telugu)

Who else other than Chiranjeevi could pull off such a role, where a bad guy has a change of heart after seeing the suffering of farmers and fights for the right? This star cast also consists of Kajal Aggarwal, Tarun Arora and Ali. It is directed by Vinayak V.V and grossed around INR 165 crores.

4. Jai Lava Kusa (Telugu)

This one is about triplets who are completely different from each other. Directed by Bobby Kolli, this movie stars NTR Jr. Raashi Khanna, Niveda Thomas and Brahmaji and has total collection of INR 128.8 crores.

5. Vivegam (Tamil)

Ajith plays an Interpol agent, who is on his way to avenge those who he worked with and in turn they betrayed him. He sharing the screen with Vivek Oberoi, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Hassan. This is a directorial of Siva and grossed about INR 128.5 crores.

6. Spyder (Telugu)

Starring Mahesh Babu and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. This movie is about a serial killer who kills to hear the victims cry. Directed by Murugadoss and other important roles played by Surya S.J and Bharath Srinivasan, this movie collected about INR 123 crores.

7. Duvvada Jagannadham (Telugu)

The lead character is avenging his uncle’s death from the local land mafia. Directed by Harish Shankar and Allu Arjun playing the lead, the other cast of the movie are Rao Ramesh, Murli Sharma and Pooja Hegde. This movie grossed INR 119 crores.

8. Bairavaa (Tamil)

Debt collector Bairavaa gets entangled with education mafia and fights a battle to bring them down. Directed by Bharathan, the lead is played by Joseph Vijay, along side Keerthi Suresh, Jagapathi Babu and Daniel Balaji. This film collected INR 113 crores.

9. Singam 3 (Tamil)

Durai Singam is back again fighting with mafia related to disposing toxic waste. Suriya plays the lead again in this installment along with Anushka Shetty, Shruti Haasan, and Imman Anachi. The direction is given by Hari and the movie grossed INR 112 crores.

10. Katamarayudu (Telugu)

The lead character with a violent past and wants to get rid of his past and transform himself, however incidents put him back into the same track again. Directed by Kishore Kumar Pardasani, the cast includes Pawan Kalyan, Shruthi Haasan, Ajay, Rao Ramesh. This movie grossed 98 crores worldwide.

11. Fidaa (Telugu)

The lead characters Varun and Bhanu come from two different backgrounds and face many challenges in their relationship. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, this was a low budget movie made with only INR17 crores and went on to become a super hit earning INR 91.8 crores. Sai Pallavi, Varun Tej, Sarah Uriarte Berry and Harshavardhan Rane are the cast of this successful project.

12. Velaikkaran (Tamil)

A slum boy fights against his own employer to prevent adulteration. With the direction of Mohan Raja, Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara and Prakash Raj, this film successfully grossed INR 84.5 crores worldwide.

13. Gautamiputra Satakarni (Telugu)

This movie narrates the life of the historical ruler of the Satavahana dynasty around the 2nd century. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the cast included Nandamuri Balakrishna, Hema Malini, Shriya Saran, and Kabir Bedi. This movie shocked the box office by earning INR 83 crores worldwide.

13. MCA Middle Class Abbayi (Telugu)

A young boy stands up for his sister-in-law, who works for the transport department and is harassed by a goon running illegal transport business. This movie stars Bhoomika Chawla, Nani, Sai Pallavi and Naresh. Directed by Venu Sriram, this low budget movie of INR 15 crores only, earned a huge turnover of INR 72.6 crores.

14. Raajakumara (Kannada)

A dedicated son of a very loving father, tries his best not to divert from his principles even after facing different hurdles placed by life. This movie stars Puneeth Rajkumar, Priya Anand, Sarath Kumar and Vijayalakshmi Singh. It is directed by Santhosh Ananddram and grossed INR 71 crores.

15. The Ghazi Attack (Telugu)

Ghazi, which is a Pakistani submarine has an intention to attack the Vizag port, however, there is an Indian submarine S21 that it has to go past, in order to attain its goal. The cast included some bigwigs like Rana Dagubatti, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Om Puri. Directed by Sankalp Reddy, it was a low budget movie of INR 20 crores which grossed at INR 63 crores.

16. Vikram Vedha (Tamil)

A tough police officer Vikram and his partner Simon try to bring down a smuggler Vedha, who is also a murderer. Directed by Gayatri and Pushkar, the cast includes Madhavan, Vijay Sethupati, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Shraddha Srinath. This film grossed INR 62.5 crores.

17. Nenu Local (Telugu)

A carefree guy falls in love with a girl. The girl’s father hates him and there is someone who feels himself to be more eligible for the girl. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and starring Nani, Naveen Chandra, Raghu Babu and Krishna Bhagwan this movie grossed around INR 60 crores.

18. Ninnu Kori (Telugu)

A couple separated due to unfortunate situations, meet again after many years. However, the female lead Pallavi is already married and happy. Nani, Nivetha Thomas, Aadhi and Tanikella Bharani make the cast up. Directorial task is done by Shiva Nirvana. This movie made INR 59.1 crores.

19. Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (Tamil)

A cop is trying to resolve the mystery behind untowardly incidents happening around him. There is some pattern which makes these incidents a matter or interest. Karthi, Rakul Preet Singh, Abhimanyu Singh and Rohit Pathak are the main cast and this film is directed by H. Vinoth. This film totally collected INR 59 crores.

20. Raja The Great (Telugu)

Story of a fighter who is blind and has amazing sixth sense. He is shouldering the task of protecting a girl. Directed by Anil Ravipudi and starring Ravi Teja, Mehreen Perezeda, Vivan Bhatena and Srinivasa Reddy this film grossed INR 56.6 crores.

21. Shatamanam Bhavati (Telugu)

What suffering can negligent children cause to their parents is shown from the parents’ point of view. This movie made with a meager budget of INR 8 crores only, shockingly made INR 55 crores and was a surprise hit. Directed by Satish Vegesna and lead roles were played by Tanikella Bharani, Chalapathi Rao, Indraja and Jayasudha.

22. Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (Tamil)

There is a feud between a business woman and a man, which hurts her ego and she starts pursuing the devastation of his life. However, the man in the lead character has his own plans. This film stars, Riaz Ahmed, Karthik Ahuja, Bhai Amma and RJ Ananthi and is directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin. This movie grossed INR 54 crores.

23. The Great Father (Malayalam)

The ‘Father’ in this movie gets on the wrong foot with the law enforcement while seeking justice for his daughter. Mammoothy, Arya, Sneha and Anikha Surendran share the screen and the direction is given by Haneef Adeni. This movie with merely INR 10 crores spent on production, earned 53 crores worldwide.

24. Arjun Reddy (Telugu)

This film first made waves across south India and then internationally. Its about a frustrated man who is a surgeon and takes deep dive into drugs and alcohol, due to loss of love. This could be one of the most surprising blockbuster as it was made with a budget of INR 4 crores only and grossed around INR 51.5 crores.

25. Rarandoi Veduka Chudham

Outgoing man and a tenacious woman, it is fun to watch how they go about their love affair. Director Kalyan Krishna, actors Rakul Preet Singh, Jagapathi Babu, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Surekha Vani join together to give out this action thriller to the audience. The response was in the form of INR 51 crores worldwide.

26. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol (Malayalam)

This film with a great star cast of Mohanlal and Meena playing the lead is about a man’s confusions and misapprehensions about love. The other actors sharing the screen with them are Aima Sebastian and Sanoop Santhosh. Directed by Jibu Jacob this movie made INR 51 crores.

27. Nene Raju Nene Mantri (Telugu)

This movie depicts the journey of a common man to becoming the most important person of the state. Directed by Teja, with Kajal Aggarwal, Ajay, Rajsekhar Aningi and Annapoorna in the cast it was a super hit and made INR 50 crores.

28. Anjaniputra (Kannada)

This movie stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. Directed by Harsha A. originally a choreographer who took on to directing, other members of the cast are Haripriya and Ramya Krishnan. This movie is about family relationships and grossed around INR 45 crores worldwide.

29. Mahunubhavudu (Telugu)

Directed by Maruthi Dasari and starring Sharvanand, Mehreen Pirzada, Nasser, Kalyani N, this movie is about a man overcoming his mental condition and going ahead to seek his love again. This film grossed about INR 44.5 crores worldwide.

30. Guru (Telugu)

A grumpy boxing coach shows interest in the boxing talent of a women. The story unfolds by showing the effects of the coaching on each of their lives. Directed by Sudha Kongara, it features Venkatesh Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Mumtaz Sorcar and Nassar. It grabbed a whopping INR 44 crores at the box office.

31. Hebbuli (Kannada)

An investigation by a commando into his brother’s death, along with him protecting his family and carrying out his brother’s vision and mission is the story line. Directed by duo S. Krishna and Rudresh M. Gowda, with Sudeep, Ravichandran, Amala Paul and Ravikishan this one grossed INR 43.7 crores.

33. Ezra (Malayalam)

Now this is something different. A box which contains a ghost? Directed by Jay.k and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Priya Anand, Tovino Thomas and Sujith Shankar, this film was a great success and earned INR 41 crores.

34. Kaatru Veliyidai (Tamil)

Varun a POW in Pakistan recollects his romance with Leela in the neighboring country. Directed by legendary director Mani Ratnam, and the screen shared by Karthi, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shraddha Srinath and RJ Balaji, it grossed INR 41 crores worldwide.

35. Ramaleela (Malayalam)

This story runs around the murky world of politics, where an unsuspecting person gains political prowess by taking a dive into that side of the world. Directed by Arun Gopy, with Dileep, Radhika Sarathkumar, Prayaga Martin and Kalabhavan Shajohn. This one crossed the mark of INR 40 crores.

36. The House Next Door (Tamil)

A new neighborhood brings a family in contact with spirits which haunt that area. Directed by Milind Rau and the screen shared by Prakash Belawadi, Khushi Hazare, Andrea Jeremiah and Atul Kulkarni, this horror flick grossed INR 39 crores.

37. Raju Gari Gadhi 2 (Telugu)

An individual with extraordinary spiritual capabilities tracks down a spirit which is haunting a resort. This is a directorial by Omkar and the cast has big names like Nagarjuna Akkineni and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who share the screen with Abhiava and Tejaswi Madivada. This horror movie grossed INR 38 crores.

38. Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Telugu)

This is a typical masala movie, where a hero fights thugs and wins his lost love back. Directed by Boyapati Srinu and teamed up by actors Tarun Arora, Jagapathi Babu, Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda and Chalapathi Rao, this film made INR 37.3 crores.

39. Jomonte Suvisheshangal (Malayalam)

A simple storyline where a wealthy guy tries to work out his relationship with his siblings. This movie was only made with a small budget of INR 10 crores and became a super hit with earnings crossing INR 36 crores. Cast includes Dilquer Salman, Mukesh, Aishwarya Rajesh and Jacob Gregory, with direction from Sathyan Anthikad.

40. Paisa Vasool (Telugu)

Police officer hires a stylish goon to bring down a mobster. Directed by famed Puri Jagannath, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Shriya Saran, Vikramjeet Virk and Musskan Sethi this film earned INR 35 crores.

41. Aadu 2 (Malayalam)

Reclaiming an arts club by a group through tug-o-war? This is definitely something new. Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and teamed up with actors Jayasurya, Saiju Kurup, Dharmajan Bolgatty and Bhagath Baby Manuel, it was a low budget movie of INR 8 crores only which earned a big profit of INR 34.5 crores worldwide.

42. Thupparivaalan (Tamil)

While investigating the missing of a pet dog, a private detective uncovers something even bigger. Directed by Myshkin and featuring Vishal, Andrea Jeremiah, Anu Emmanuel with Simran, this film grossed INR 33.6 crores.

43. Hello (Telugu)

Childhood couple getting reunited and various interesting incidents to follow, that is the theme of this film. Directed by Vikram K. Kumar and the cast including Akhil Akkineni, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Jagapathi Babu and Ramya Krishnan this movie crossed around INR 32.8 crores, which was below average performance due to the budget itself being INR 30 crores.

44. Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi (Telugu)

This is a old format triangle love story, where two friends face issues once they have one single girl in their lives. Directed by Thirumala Kishore and featuring Ram Pothineni, Anisha Ambrose, Anand & Kaushik Babu this movie could not perform up to the mark. It made INR 31 crores worldwide with losses in the homeground.

45. Goutham Nanda (Telugu)

A billionaire swaps his life with a look-alike who badly wants to live the life of a rich man. Directed by Sampath Nandi and featuring Tottempudi Gopichand, Catherine Tresa, Mukesh Rishi and Chandramohan, this movie’s performance was below average. It was made with a budget of 20 crores and could make only 30 crores worldwide and failed to make profit in the domestic market.

46. Kavan (Tamil)

TV journalist opposes his own boss in order to help support a social cause alongside a young group of people. Directed by Anand K.V and made with only a budget of INR 10 crores, this movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Madonna Sebastian, Thesingu Rajendar and Bose Venkat, this film became a super hit and earned INR 30 crores.

47. Chakravarthy (Kannada)

How the life in the underworld has changed over four decades is showcased in this project. Directed by Chinthan, featuring Deepa Sannidhi, Kumar Bangarappa, Charulatha and Dinakar Thoogudeepa, this movie delivered an average  earning of INR 29 crores which was made on a budget of INR 20 crores.

49. CIA: Comrade in America (Malayalam)

A comrade travels to the United States illegally in order to stop his girlfriend’s marriage. This film is about all the hurdles he faces in trying to do so. It is directed by Amal Neerad and stars Dulquer Salman, Karthika Muraleedharan, Siddique and Chandini Sreedharan. It’s a low budget movie made with only INR 7.5 crores and went on to become a super hit earning 27.5 crores worldwide.

50. Take off (Malayalam)

A group of nurses who were held hostage in the city of Tikrit, Iraq post takeover in 2014. The movie narrates the horror of the incidents which followed. Directed by Mahesh Narayan and featuring Parvathy, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Prakash Belawadi this was a super hit movie. It earned INR 27 crores even after being made at a very low budget.

51. Winner (Telugu)

An intruder lives with a family pretending to be their long lost child. Directed by Gopichand Malineni and cast including Adarsh, Sonia Agarwal, Ali and Apoorva , this movie turned out be a disaster not earning profits worldwide, neither in the domestic market.

52. Bogan (Tamil)

Mystery surrounds the identity of “Bogan.” The movie is created around this mystery. Directed by Lakshman, featuring Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swamy, Hansika Motwani and Nassar this movie gave an average performance grossing around INR 26 crores.

53. Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela (Malayalam)

Expat returns to homeland and this opens up a very remarkable chapter of his life. Directorial of Althaf Salim and cast consisting of Nivin Pauly, Shantikrishna, Lal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, this movie was a hit grossing INR 25.6 crores.

Directed by Lal Jose, accompanied by legendary actor Mohanlal, along with Anoop Menon, Arun Kurian, and Sharath Kumar, this movie is a hit and earned around INR 25.3 crores.

55. Tarak (Kannada)

Story of an orphan who develops a soft corner for  a social worker. Directed by Prakash and featuring Shruthi Hariharan, Darshan, Devaraj and Shanvi Srivastava this movie is a hit and earned INR 25.2 crores.

56. Parava (Malayalam)

Pigeon race, a game which is common around Kochi, this story revolves around the lead character and his association with the game. Directed by Soubin Shahir and featuring Amal Shah, Govind V. Pai, Dulquer Salmaan and Shane Nigaam, this movie is a hit and earned INR 25.1 crores.

57. Mufti (Kannada)

Undercover cop enters the dangerous world of mafia, where his own life is under threat. This was just an above average movie with earnings around INR 25.1 crores. It featured Shivrajkumar, Devaraj, Prakash Belawadi and Shanvi Srivastava.

58. Om Namo Venkatesaya (Telugu)

Life of a spiritual man Hathiram Baba is depicted in this flick. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Saurabh Raj Jain, Anushka Shetty, and Jagapathi Babu this movie turned out to be a disaster. It went to a loss of INR 10 crores.

59. Villian (Malayalam)

Anonymous criminal is committing perfect murders and mocking the law enforcement. The retired cop who steps in to investigate has something to do with the killer’s past. Even with Mohanlal playing the lead, director B. Unnikrishnan was unable to deliver. This movie was just below average, earning around INR 24.6 crores.

60. Meesaya murukku (Tamil)

This movie depicts the struggle of the lead artist of the Tamil hip-hop band Tamizha, both in personal life and professional life. The biopic is directed by Hiphop Tamizha Adhi and main lead played by himself along with Aathmika, Ma Ka Pa Anand and Anbu. This movie came out to be a blockbuster hit and earning INR 24.4 crores.

61. Thondimuthalum Dhriksakshiyum (Malayalam)

The story is about a petty thief and the lady in the lead role. The story takes a twist where the thief steals a gold chain from the lady during a bus trip. Directed by Dileesh Pothan, featuring Fahadh Faasil, Suraaj Venjarammodu, Nimisha Sajayan and Alencier Ley Lopez, this came out to be a blockbuster hit earning INR 23 crores.

62. Masterpiece (Malayalam)

This is an average hit featuring Mammootty and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, it earned around INR 23 crores, not great compared to the amount invested. This story is about a professor who takes on the issue of clashing student groups in the campus and sets things right.

63. Adam Joan (Malayalam)

A simple love story of a guy name Adam who meets a girl named Emy. They head to Scotland and slowly the story unfolds. Jinu Abraham’s direction and cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Narain, Rahul Madhav & Bhavana, this movie was a slightly above average. It grossed INR 22.8 crores.

64. Chamak (Kannada)

Lead role played by Ganesh, who is a playboy in reality, gets married to an innocent girl and keeps everyone unsuspecting. Directed by Sunil and other stars in the cast are Rashmika Mandanna, and Sadhu Kokila. This movie turned out to be a blockbuster hit making around INR 22.5 crores.

65. Angamaly Diaries (Malayalam)

This is one of the lowest budget movies made only with INR 3 crores. It is about the clash between a righteous and malicious gang. It turned out to be a super hit making a turnover of INR 22 crores. It is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and features Antony Varghese, Sarath Kumar, Tito Wilson and Reshma Rajan.

66. Keshava (Telugu)

This is an average movie, which is about a student who has an erratic heart ailment. His challenge is to seek revenge without losing his cool. It is directed by Sudheer Varma and the star cast includes Vennela Kishore, Isha Koppikar, Madhunandan, and Rao Ramesh. This film grossed INR 22 crores.

67. Bharjari (Kannada)

This story is about a carefree guy, who sees twists and turns after three women enter his life. Lead role is played by Dhruva Sarja, along with Rachita Ram, Haripriya and Avinash. Direction is given by Chethan Kumar. This film turned out to be a blockbuster and earned INR 21.5 crores.
